Dr. Nancy Spector Receives AMWA Elizabeth Blackwell Award

Established in 1949, the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) presents the annual Elizabeth Blackwell Award to an outstanding woman in medicine whose contributions trailblaze the way for future generations of female clinicians. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to receive a medical degree in the United States, fought for women’s education in medicine and remains a pillar of the medical community today.

We’re proud to share that our very own Dr. Nancy Spector, I-PASS co-founder, has been selected as the 2023 Elizabeth Blackwell Award winner. In response to the news, Dr. Spector shared, “I am honored to receive this recognition from such an important organization that I have had the privilege of working with so closely over the years.” As an organization that advocates for gender equity in medicine, we’re proud to see such a worthy individual presented with this award.
